School from the interior of SP leads results in the Paulista Provão and approves student in medicine at Unesp: 'We dreamed together,' says vice-principal
A school in Jaú, São Paulo, has achieved top results in the Paulista Provão exam, securing a medical admission for one of its students at Unesp.
A high school in Jaú, located in the interior of São Paulo, has garnered attention for its impressive results in the Paulista Provão, a serial entrance exam that offers direct placements into renowned universities such as USP, Unicamp, Unesp, and Fatec. With around 46,000 spots allocated exclusively for public school students, the Provão signifies a significant opportunity for many students. The school, known for only offering high school education, has been a regional reference for college admissions well before the introduction of this new testing system.
The vice-principal, Elisângela Fernanda Volpato Rosseto, highlighted that although the school comprises ten grades, the competition for enrollment is intense. The neighborhood features a long-established demographic profile, with many residents being elderly; thus, students often travel from other areas of the city or even neighboring municipalities. This influx of students contributes to the school's diverse applicant pool and showcases its reputation for excellence.
Remarkably, this school already had a track record of success, achieving numerous approvals through the Enem (National High School Exam) before the Provão was implemented. The vice-principal expressed pride in the school's history and continued commitment to academic excellence, emphasizing the importance of collaborative dream-building between students and staff in reaching their goals. This achievement not only underscores the school's dedication but also reflects the effectiveness of the Provão in fostering educational opportunities for underprivileged populations in Brazil.
