Eve Mägi has become the new leader of the Praxis think tank
Eve Mägi has been appointed as the new leader of the Praxis think tank in Estonia, following her extensive experience in educational policy and various research projects since 2009.
The Praxis think tank in Estonia has announced the appointment of Eve Mägi as its new leader. Mägi has been an integral part of Praxis since 2009, specializing in educational policy, and has participated in various research projects in roles such as expert, analyst, and evaluator. Her background includes conducting both quantitative and qualitative research across different sectors, giving her a broad understanding of the educational landscape in Estonia.
Throughout her career, Mägi has focused on topics related to general education, including career choices for secondary education graduates, educational counseling, and multicultural education, as well as curriculum development. Her involvement in the international network SIRIUS, which addresses educational issues for children from migrant backgrounds, highlights her commitment to inclusivity and improving educational outcomes for diverse populations.
The announcement of a new leadership position comes after the former leader, Urmo Kübar, stated in December 2025 that he was likely to apply for the position again, as per Praxis's bylaws, which necessitate a public competition for the leadership role every five years. This change at the helm of the think tank is expected to drive new initiatives and strategies in educational policy analysis in Estonia.
