Traffic Police of Attica: 8 Drivers Arrested – Over 5,000 Violations in 4 Days

The Traffic Police of Attica conducted targeted actions and traffic checks, resulting in over 5,000 violations and the arrest of eight drivers over a weekend.

During a four-day special operation in the Attica Prefecture of Greece, the Traffic Police implemented focused actions and thorough traffic checks from Thursday morning to Monday dawn. This operation involved members from the Traffic Accident Prevention and Control Teams, resulting in a staggering total of 31,494 checks being conducted across the region. Within this period, authorities confirmed 5,246 violations, highlighting significant traffic law breaches throughout Attica.

Among the reported violations, the most notable included 32 instances of traffic light violations, 286 for speeding, and multiple offenses for driving without necessary licenses or protective gear. Additionally, 252 violations were reported for driving under the influence of alcohol, leading to the arrest of eight drivers. The enforcement actions aimed to enhance road safety and deter reckless driving in an area known for its high traffic volume.

In total, the traffic authorities confiscated 202 vehicle registration licenses, 1,005 driver’s licenses, and 169 number plates while immobilizing 599 vehicles during the checks.
