He crashed with the paraglider. It was a gift from her boyfriend
A young woman tragically died in Tenerife after a paragliding accident, with her organs donated to save other lives.
Cristina Colturi, a 28-year-old from Como, Italy, died in a paragliding accident in Tenerife after falling along with her instructor on a tandem flight. The incident occurred on Sunday at La Enramada beach in Adeje, and despite prompt medical attention and surgeries, she succumbed to her injuries after two days in critical condition. Her instructor sustained injuries but survived the crash.
The medical team in Spain made significant efforts to save Colturi's life but, unfortunately, were unable to do so even after transferring her to Nuestra Seรฑora de la Candelaria Hospital for surgery. Following her passing, her family consented to organ donation, leading to the successful transplantation of two of her organs to patients in need, as confirmed by the transplant coordination team at Hospital Universitario de Canarias.
This tragic incident highlights the dangers associated with paragliding, especially for individuals who may be inexperienced. It also underscores the vital importance of organ donation, as Colturi's decision to donate can significantly impact the lives of others who are awaiting transplants, turning her untimely death into a chance for new life for others.
