Saaremaa continues in good form, it was a successful week for Estonians in Romania
Estonian volleyball players had a mixed week in Romania, achieving significant victories while facing challenges.
Last week was a notable one for Estonian volleyball players competing abroad, as they faced both hardships and victories in various leagues. In the Polish PlusLiga, Kertu Laak's team, Bielsko-Biala Bostik, managed a decisive 3:0 victory over Nowy Dwor Mazowiecki, with Laak contributing with three points. This victory solidified Bielsko-Biala's position in the league, where they currently hold the third spot with 40 points.
Meanwhile, in the Romanian National League, Renet Vanker and Timo Lõhmus' team, Galati Arcada, also secured a clean sweep victory against Bucharest's Stiinta Politehnica, winning 3:0. Vanker's leadership in the game and two points added to the team's performance kept Galati comfortably positioned at second with 43 points. Another Estonian duo, Renee Teppan and Albert Hurd's Zalau, also emerged victorious, defeating Unirea Dej with a strong 3:0 win, with Hurd achieving 15 points as the top scorer of the match.
In France, Robert Viiber contributed to Narbonne's straightforward 3:0 win over Ajaccio. The success of these Estonian players across multiple leagues not only highlights their individual skills but also reflects positively on the strength of Estonian volleyball on an international level. As they continue to compete successfully, it raises the profile of Estonian sports and showcases their prowess on the larger volleyball stage.
