"Latvijas pasts" has resumed parcel delivery to two Middle Eastern countries

Latvian postal service "Latvijas pasts" has resumed parcel delivery to Oman and Saudi Arabia after previously suspending it.

"Latvijas pasts," the Latvian postal service, has announced that it has resumed parcel delivery to Oman and Saudi Arabia, following a suspension that began on March 4 of this year due to escalating regional tensions. The company has reinstated mutual exchange of shipments with these countries while keeping a close watch on the current situation. As part of the resumption, parcels that were held during the delivery suspension are now being processed, with older items prioritized for delivery.

The initial suspension of deliveries by "Latvijas pasts" coincided with increased military actions in the region, particularly following Israeli and U.S. strikes on Iran starting February 28, which put several Iranian cities, including the capital Tehran, under significant threat. In addition, another postal service, "Omniva," had also temporarily halted deliveries to the Middle East during the same period, indicating a broader impact of the geopolitical tensions on logistics in the region.

This development highlights the interconnectedness of global postal services and the impacts of international relations on trade and communications. As the situation continues to evolve, postal services are required to adapt rapidly to ensure the safe delivery of goods, illustrating the influence geopolitical events can have even at the level of parcel delivery and logistics.
