In the fourth quarter of 2025, Estonia experienced a positive trend in employment as 35,833 individuals secured jobs, reflecting an increase of over 1,500 people compared to the previous year. According to the Statistics Department, there were a total of 8,553 job vacancies in various Estonian companies and organizations during this period. Despite a slight decrease of nearly 500 vacancies from the previous year, the employment landscape remained stable with approximately 584,000 jobs in total, of which 1.5% were categorized as vacant.
The sectors leading in job vacancies included education, with 1,435 open positions, and wholesale and retail trade, which accounted for 1,431 vacancies. Krista Vaikmets, a lead analyst at the Statistics Department, noted the consistency in the rate of job vacancies, indicating a solid match between open positions and available workforce. The highest number of occupied positions was found in the manufacturing sector, which had 97,668 filled roles, followed by wholesale and retail trade with 81,725 roles, and education with 63,279 filled positions.
