Firm opens entries for screenwriting contest
XLCreativeHub has launched a screenwriting competition inviting submissions for original feature-length film scripts, with entries due by March 16, 2026.
XLCreativeHub has officially opened submissions for its Screenwriting Competition and Creator Residency, encouraging screenwriters and storytellers to submit their original feature-length film synopses. The competition's deadline for entries is set for March 16, 2026, a timeline that allows participants ample time to craft their submissions. The organizers aim to foster creativity within the film industry and provide opportunities for emerging writers.
Following the submission period, a panel of judges, including Halima Odiegwu, Emil Guruba, and Kehinde Joseph, will evaluate the entries between March 17 and March 20. During this period, they will select six finalists, whose names will be revealed in a live broadcast on the hub's YouTube channel on March 20. The competition culminates in a screenwriting residency in Abuja, which will take place from March 22 to March 28, offering the finalists further chances to develop their scripts and ideas.
Public engagement is also significantly emphasized, as voting for the overall winner will begin on March 28 and conclude on April 6. The ultimate winner will be announced on April 7, 2026, showcasing the organizationβs commitment to involving the public in the creative process and recognizing the talents of screenwriters across Nigeria. This initiative not only aims to support individual creatives but also to enhance the broader film ecosystem in the country.
