Birdwatching will have guided outings during COP15 in Campo Grande
During the COP15 in Campo Grande, residents and visitors can participate in guided birdwatching activities to learn about local biodiversity.
During the 15th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (COP15/CMS), residents and visitors in Campo Grande will have the opportunity to engage in guided birdwatching activities in natural areas around the city. This initiative, called 'passarinhas,' will feature group outings led by specialized guides who will assist participants in identifying various bird species and understanding the local biodiversity.
The initiative aims to provide attendees of the conference, as well as other visitors, with direct contact with bird species that inhabit or migrate through the capital of Mato Grosso do Sul. The activities will take place in parks and other green spaces within Campo Grande, highlighting the accessibility and ecological richness of the area. Birdwatching is a growing practice in the city, promoted by local environmental organizations.
Those interested in participating can join the gatherings organized by the Vem Passarinhar MS project, coordinated by the Mamede Institute for Environmental Research and Ecotourism. This event not only aims to enhance the conference experience but also to encourage awareness and appreciation of local wildlife, reflecting broader efforts towards conservation and sustainable tourism in the region.
