From air security to 24-hour police station: special scheme set up for COP15 in MS
Mato Grosso do Sul is implementing a comprehensive security plan for the upcoming COP15, aiming to ensure the safety of international attendees and delegations.
From March 23 to 29, Campo Grande in Mato Grosso do Sul will host COP15, an international conference focused on the conservation of migratory species. To safeguard both authorities and participants, the Mato Grosso do Sul government has established a special security scheme that includes aerial patrols and 24-hour police support for tourists. The planning process began last July and involves cooperation from federal, state, and municipal security forces, coordinated by the State Secretariat of Justice and Public Security (Sejusp).
The government aims to create a safe, peaceful, and organized environment for the conference, which is expected to attract international delegations and officials. The security measures are extensive, including aerial surveillance with helicopters, and potentially planes, to ensure that the event is well protected against any threats. This focus on security underlines the importance of the conference as a platform for global discussion on environmental conservation.
By investing in such sophisticated security protocols, Mato Grosso do Sul demonstrates its commitment to hosting significant international events and tackling the crucial issues of species conservation and biodiversity. The specialized preparations emphasize the need for effective management of international conferences that can have implications for global environmental policies and cooperation among nations.
