The State of Mexico has achieved a 68% progress in the reconstruction of Periférico Norte in just two months, highlighting Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez's commitment to infrastructure development.

In a remarkable display of progress, the Government of the State of Mexico has announced that the reconstruction of Periférico Norte has reached a significant 68% completion within just two months of continuous work. This milestone reflects the ambition of Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez, who has proclaimed 2026 as the 'Year of Works in Edomex'. The extensive project encompasses the rehabilitation of 77 out of the total 108 kilometers of the highway, turning the governor's vision for improved infrastructure into a tangible reality.

The reconstruction efforts, which cover the four lanes of Periférico from the former Toreo area adjacent to Miguel Hidalgo in Mexico City to the Tepotzotlán toll booth, are being overseen by Joel González Toral, the director of the Junta de Caminos del Estado de México. With a commitment to ensuring that the upgraded roadway is both dignified and long-lasting, the state government has allocated more than 1.2 billion pesos (over 11 million pesos per kilometer) for these improvements, focusing on advanced surfacing techniques and essential infrastructure enhancement.

This project is not only aimed at improving transportation within the region but is also positioned as a cornerstone of the governor's broader development strategy. The progress on Periférico Norte serves as a vital reminder of the state's commitment to infrastructure, which, if successful, could significantly impact local economies and improve daily commutes for countless residents and commuters alike.
