Delfina Gómez installs permanent Peace Table and enhances surveillance in Edomex

Governor Delfina Gómez has established a permanent Peace Table and increased security measures in the State of Mexico following the death of CJNG leader Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes.

Following the death of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, the leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez of the State of Mexico has initiated a series of security enhancements across the region. This includes the establishment of a permanent Peace Table aimed at fostering dialogue and coordinating efforts to ensure public safety. The deployment of soldiers, marines, and elements from the National Guard has been initiated as part of this enhanced security operation.

Gómez announced that security forces from federal, state, and municipal levels will be working together strategically to implement various operations. Increased patrols and the creation of surveillance points have been prioritized to maintain order and secure the safety of the approximately 19 million residents in the State of Mexico. The focus is on areas bordering the states of Guerrero and Michoacán, all of which have been significantly impacted by cartel violence.

The situation highlights ongoing challenges in public safety and security throughout the region, especially following a significant criminal event. With the establishment of the Peace Table, there is an emphasis not only on responding to violence but also on preventing it through cooperation and monitoring. This initiative could potentially influence the dynamics of security across the State of Mexico and set a precedent for collaboration between local law enforcement and federal forces to combat organized crime effectively.
