Cross Walk for the Unborn Held on Hum Above Mostar
Around 300 believers participated in a Cross Walk for the unborn on March 8 in Mostar, organized by the '40 Days for Life' initiative.
On March 8, approximately 300 participants gathered on Hum Hill above Mostar to take part in a Cross Walk dedicated to the unborn, organized by the '40 Days for Life' movement. This event marked the second Cross Walk for the unborn in Mostar, aligning with the Lenten campaign focused on prayer and fasting for the protection of life. The gathering included families with children, youth, and older individuals who walked with rosaries in hand and prayers on their lips, all reflecting on the stations of Christ’s passion while praying for each unborn child's life.
Among the participants were doctors, healthcare professionals, and individuals from public and social lives, demonstrating a strong message of community and social responsibility towards the most vulnerable. The procession ascended under warm, sunny skies, but as they neared the cross, clouds gathered, with a few drops of rain falling at the cross site, symbolically perceived as a touch from heaven upon the gathered prayers. This Cross Walk is a cherished tradition maintained by the '40 Days for Life' initiative during the Lenten season, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in protecting life.
The event not only serves as a spiritual exercise but also highlights the ongoing discourse about life issues in Croatia, reflecting the united stance of many believers in advocating for the unborn. It reiterates the role of faith in community actions and the significance of such movements in the broader context of societal values surrounding life and family. As the initiative continues to gain traction, it reinforces the presence of pro-life sentiments in the region, fostering discussions around morality and societal responsibility in the face of contemporary challenges regarding life choices.
