President Kennedy Avenue will be closed for maintenance on the electrical network and tree trimming in Barra Mansa
A section of President Kennedy Avenue in Barra Mansa, Brazil, will be closed from October 10 to 12 for maintenance on the electrical network and tree trimming.
A segment of President Kennedy Avenue in Barra Mansa, Rio de Janeiro, will be closed from Tuesday, October 10, to Thursday, October 12, to facilitate maintenance work on the electric supply network and the trimming of a large tree. The closure will occur at the height of Vila Delgado between the hours of 8 AM and 5 PM each day. The initiative was prompted by local residents voicing concerns over the tree, which has grown dangerously close to nearby houses and posed risks during heavy rainfall.
The city’s administration indicated that the decision to carry out the maintenance work was made to ensure the safety of residents and their properties, especially since the tree had previously caused damage during storms. To aid the operation, a crane will be provided by a contracted company to assist in the safe removal and trimming of the tree.
Moreover, the municipal traffic agents will be involved in managing the traffic flow during the closure period, directing motorists towards alternative routes. Drivers heading toward Volta Redonda are advised to take Rua Cabo Cesário and then access Rua Orlando Brandão, while those leaving Barra Mansa should get onto Rua São Jorge, follow Rua Cabo Cesário, and return to President Kennedy Avenue after the closed segment. This maintenance plan underscores the local government's response to community concerns and prioritizes public safety.
