The Civil Police of Pernambuco executed an arrest warrant for drug trafficking in Cabrobó, resulting in the imprisonment of a man sentenced to over six years.

The Civil Police of Pernambuco have successfully executed an arrest warrant as part of an ongoing effort to combat drug trafficking in the region. This operation, which took place in Cabrobó, a municipality known for its challenges with drug-related crimes, targeted a man who had been convicted of drug trafficking offenses. The sentencing was handed down by the 2nd Criminal Court of Cabrobó, resulting in a prison term of six years, five months, and 25 days, to be served in a closed regime initially.

The arrest occurred on March 4, following police investigations that included the collaboration of the Malhas da Lei program, which supports law enforcement agencies in their efforts to apprehend fugitives and combat organized crime. Upon locating the suspect, the police took him into custody and transported him to the local Civil Police station, where required legal proceedings were followed before his transfer.

Following a custody hearing, the convicted individual was subsequently remanded to the Salgueiro Prison, where he will remain available to the judicial system for any further legal processing. This enforcement action is part of a broader strategy by local authorities to address the significant issues posed by drug trafficking and related criminal activities in the Sertão region of Pernambuco.
