Police launches operation against drug trafficking and money laundering in the Sertão of Pernambuco

The Civil Police of Pernambuco launched 'Operation Resilience' to combat drug trafficking and organized crime in the Sertão region.

On Wednesday morning, the Civil Police of Pernambuco executed 'Operation Resilience' as part of their ongoing efforts to dismantle organized crime linked to drug trafficking, arms trafficking, and money laundering. This operation is significant as it highlights the authorities' commitment to addressing serious criminal activities in the Sertão region, an area plagued by these issues.

The operation involves the fulfillment of six arrest warrants and 19 search and seizure warrants, all sanctioned by the Criminal Court of Petrolina. The targeted locations include Petrolina, Lagoa Grande, and Santa Maria da Boa Vista in Pernambuco, as well as Juazeiro in Bahia and Cesário Lange in São Paulo. With 75 police personnel, including delegates and agents involved in the operation, it marks the 12th significant crackdown of the year aimed at organized crime in the state.
