A tragic accident occurred on the SP-255 highway in Taquarituba, Brazil, where a truck driver lost his life while attempting to avoid a pedestrian. The incident took place on Sunday evening at kilometer 318 of the Eduardo Saigh highway, as the truck was transporting soybeans towards Itaí. Witnesses reported that the pedestrian unexpectedly tried to cross the road, prompting the driver to make a sudden maneuver, which resulted in him losing control and the truck overturning.

The São Paulo State Transport Agency (Artesp) confirmed the details of the accident, including the rapid response to the scene. The overturned truck was removed to clear the roadway, while the victim's remains were collected by a funeral service. This accident not only resulted in the unfortunate death of the driver but also caused significant traffic disruptions in the area, with reports of congestion extending approximately three kilometers on the opposite lane and nearly 300 meters of slowdown detected towards Itaí.
