A truck veered off the road and crashed into the wall of a church in Campos dos Goytacazes, resulting in the driver's death, with initial reports suggesting he may have suffered a medical emergency.

A tragic accident occurred on BR-101 in Campos dos Goytacazes when a truck driven by 58-year-old César Rogério Capeletti veered off the road and crashed into the wall of a church. The incident took place around 3:30 PM on Friday, where it is reported that Capeletti was transporting bus chassis at the time of the accident. Eyewitnesses and initial assessments suggest that the driver may have suffered a sudden medical emergency, possibly losing consciousness before the vehicle left the roadway.

The truck traveled approximately 150 meters off the road before colliding with the church structure, and fortunately, no other individuals were harmed in the accident. Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash, focusing on the possibility that Capeletti was incapacitated prior to the impact, raising concerns regarding driver health conditions and the risks associated with long-haul transportation. Following the incident, Capeletti's body was taken to the African Peixoto Medical Legal Institute for further examination.

Capeletti, a resident of São Marcos, is being mourned by the community, highlighting the localized impact of this unfortunate event. The incident not only raises awareness about driver health and road safety but also serves as a reminder of the potential dangers associated with commercial trucking, which is a significant issue across Brazil's vast network of highways.
