The Latvian band 'Laika Upe' has introduced their latest work, a fresh rendition of the iconic song 'Love Ballad' by renowned composers Raimonds Pauls and Guntars Račs. This marks the first time in the band’s history that they have recorded and publicly released an interpretation of a well-known song. The original piece was first performed in the musical 'The Legend of the Green Roof' by Gunārs Kalniņš, and now, over twenty-five years later, it sees a revival through this new interpretation.

The group's lead singer Guntis Nurža shared his personal connection to the song, expressing that 'Love Ballad' has always been one of his favorite Latvian songs. He recalls being moved by its performance during the musical years ago. Nurža also participated in a popular singing competition, 'X Faktors,' where he felt compelled to select a Latvian song, specifically 'Love Ballad,' believing it would showcase his vocal ability.
