HelleniQ Energy begins commercial operation of photovoltaic parks in Romania
HelleniQ Energy has commenced commercial operation of two photovoltaic parks in Romania with a combined capacity of 58 MW, marking a significant step in their expansion into the renewable energy market.
HelleniQ Energy, a major player in the renewable energy sector, has officially announced the commercial operation of two photovoltaic parks located in southern Romania. These parks boast a combined generating capacity of 58 megawatts (MW) and are a part of a larger agreement signed with Metlen earlier this year for the construction and acquisition of four photovoltaic projects totaling 211 MW. This initiative not only highlights HelleniQ's commitment to expanding its renewable energy presence in Romania but also reflects the nation's increasing investment in sustainable energy infrastructure.
The development of these photovoltaic parks represents a strategic move for HelleniQ Energy, as it aims to strengthen its position within the emerging Romanian renewable energy market. With plans to deliver the remaining two projects, which will add another 153 MW to their portfolio by 2026, the company is well on its way to establishing a significant footprint in this sector. The overall goal is to reach a total installed capacity exceeding 850 MW, which will enhance the group's operational capabilities and international portfolio.
Additionally, HelleniQ Energy's approach includes a diverse range of technologies, incorporating not just photovoltaic setups but also wind projects and energy storage systems. This variety is crucial for enhancing the flexibility and resilience of the energy system in Romania, allowing for better integration of renewable sources into the existing energy grid. As Romania continues to transition its energy landscape, the successful entry and expansion of firms like HelleniQ Energy serve as indicators of a wider shift towards sustainable energy solutions across the region.
