Candidates preparing for government jobs in Uttar Pradesh have reason to celebrate as the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has officially announced the examination date for the Lekhpal recruitment. This announcement comes after a prolonged wait for the candidates, who have been eager to know when they will have the opportunity to participate in the examination. The main examination is scheduled for May 2026, giving candidates a clear timeline to intensify their preparations and strategies.

The examination will be conducted on 21st May 2026, covering a total of 7,996 positions for the Lekhpal role. According to the commission’s notice, the exam will start at 10 a.m. and conclude at 12 p.m. The announcement of the exam date has reinvigorated the candidates’ spirits, many of whom have already begun ramping up their preparations in anticipation of this opportunity. With a significant number of applications, the commission has indicated that about 366,000 candidates will be competing in the main examination.

Candidates selected to participate in the main examination have been chosen based on their scores from the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET). This mechanism of selection ensures that only the top-scoring candidates from the PET will proceed to the crucial main examination, which marks a significant step in their journey towards securing a government position in the state.
