Judoka Aktas delivered an impressive performance in Austria

Estonian judoka Emma-Melis Aktas secured third place at the Linz Grand Prix in Austria among 19 competitors in her category.

Emma-Melis Aktas, a judoka from Estonia competing in the +78 kg category, showcased her exceptional skills at the Linz Grand Prix held in Austria, finishing third out of 19 participants. Having entered the tournament as the third seed, Aktas initially had a bye in the first round. In her second match, she faced Romanian competitor Thalia Castellano, defeating her with a decisive hold which demonstrated her technical prowess. However, in the quarter-finals against Brazilian Giovanna Santos, the match was competitive and turned against Aktas when Santos scored a yuko point approximately a minute before the end of regular time, leaving Aktas unable to recover from the deficit and forcing her into the consolation round.
