Vila Madalena, a vibrant neighborhood in São Paulo, Brazil, is slated to welcome a new street cinema called Cine Tutu, which is a project by renowned architect Isay Weinfeld. The cinema will be situated on Rua Girassol and is being developed in a building that was originally intended to be a theater but has remained unused for many years. The Cine Tutu will offer a single auditorium with a seating capacity of 114, providing an intimate viewing experience for its audience.

The initiative is spearheaded by businessman Paulo Velasco, who is already known for his work with Cinesala and the café-bar Barouche located in the Pinheiros cinema. The Cine Tutu will also feature a branch of Barouche, further enhancing the cinema's appeal as a cultural hub. The project has garnered support from various stakeholders, including Alfredo Setubal from the Todavia publishing house, film producer Marcos Nisti from Maria Farinha Filmes, and cinema researcher Mariana Lucas from FAAP.
