A repatriation flight organized by the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently on its way to Finland, having departed from Muscat, Oman. The flight, which took off on Sunday afternoon local Finnish time, carries just over 160 passengers, including more than 70 children. The Ministry prioritized vulnerable individuals for this flight, ensuring that families with children under 16 years of age were accommodated.

Approximately 390 people had registered for the flight; however, more than 100 ultimately canceled their reservations. The cost of the flight per passenger is set at €1,230. Finnish Minister of Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen expressed gratitude toward everyone involved in organizing the flight both at the airport and in Helsinki, as well as for the patience exhibited by the passengers under challenging circumstances.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to assess the need for further repatriation flights and will provide updates regarding additional flights to other countries as necessary. This initiative reflects the Finnish government's ongoing commitment to assist its citizens abroad, particularly in crisis situations, and addresses the logistical challenges of transporting individuals safely during such times.
