Swedish Women Won the Kontiolahti Relay, Estonia 14th
The Swedish women's team won the Kontiolahti relay race while Estonia finished in 14th place.
In the Women's 4x6 km relay race held in Kontiolahti, Finland, the Swedish team, consisting of Linn Gestblom, Anna Magnusson, Hanna Γberg, and Elvira Γberg, clinched victory with a time of 1:09:33.2, despite facing challenges during the race. A significant turning point occurred during the third leg when Hanna Γberg shot flawlessly and displayed excellent skiing performance, helping Sweden to maintain their lead. Other contestants struggled, with France's Oceane Michelon needing spare ammunition during the prone shooting stage, which hampered their chances, while Norway's Karoline Knotten fell out of the top three after taking a penalty lap.
Ultimately, Sweden finished 40.6 seconds ahead of the French team, which ended up second with three penalties. Norway's Maren Kirkeeide managed to pass a Czech competitor on the final stretch to secure third place, but they were already over a minute behind the winners. Other teams, including the Czech Republic, Poland, and Switzerland, trailed further behind, accumulating numerous penalties that impacted their overall times.
