Latvian women's biathlon quartet does not finish in the relay; victory for Sweden

The Swedish women's biathlon team won the relay despite strong competition, with Latvia failing to finish the race.

In a recent women's biathlon relay, the Swedish team secured victory, showcasing impressive shooting skills from their athletes Linna Gistbloma and her teammates Hanna Ēberga, Anna Magnusone, and Elvīra Ēberga. They completed the race in just over one hour and nine minutes, utilizing only four spare cartridges throughout the event. Their excellent performance underscored Sweden's dominance in the sport this season.

The French team, despite their commendable shooting with only three spare cartridges used, finished in a close second position, trailing by 40.6 seconds. Their strong finish allowed them to clinch the Small Crystal Globe for the season's overall standings in women's relay, marking a significant achievement for the athletes Kamille Benē, Oseana Mišelona, Lū Žanmono, and Jūlija Simona. This relay highlighted the competitive nature of women's biathlon, as teams battled closely for vital points in the season.

Norway took third place, finishing a minute and 6.8 seconds behind the leaders after facing additional challenges, including one penalty lap and ten spare cartridges used. Latvia's team entered the relays in the 17th position based on the overall nation ranking, and although they did not finish this race, this result will impact their standings and opportunities in the next season as they seek to improve.
