TUI Evacuates Passengers from Abu Dhabi
Tour operator TUI has successfully carried out two evacuation flights from Abu Dhabi with a total of 18 Nordic passengers, including six Finns, on board.
Travel company TUI has confirmed that it successfully executed two evacuation flights from Abu Dhabi, transporting 18 Nordic nationals, including six Finns. These flights were conducted using TUI Airways planes and included a stopover in Heraklion, Crete, for refueling before heading to Hannover, Germany. From there, the Finnish passengers will continue their journey back home to Finland.
TUI has established a temporary center in Heraklion, where flight crews are being changed and aircraft are being refueled before proceeding to their final destinations. The company is also planning additional flights for the coming days, but emphasizes that these operations are contingent on open airspace and safety conditions. The situation reflects ongoing challenges in international travel, particularly in regions where security and operational capacity can fluctuate.
Additionally, Tjäreborg, another travel agency, has confirmed that its customers are stranded in Dubai and Doha, working to facilitate their return home. The urgency of these evacuation efforts highlights the ongoing instability in travel arrangements, impacting the Nordic market and prompting agencies to explore alternative routes to assist their clients during these turbulent times.
