A tragic accident occurred in Itu, São Paulo, where a man lost his life after stepping out of his car which had suffered mechanical failure. The incident took place around 4 a.m. on Saturday, where the man exited the vehicle on the return ramp of the Archimedes Lamomoglia Highway (SP-075) to cross the roadway. Unfortunately, he was struck by another vehicle and sustained severe injuries that led to his death at the scene.

According to reports from the Highway Police, the man's car broke down, prompting him to leave the vehicle to navigate the busy highway. Following the collision, he was thrown towards the central median and succumbed to his injuries despite attempts to provide immediate assistance. Fortunately, the other individuals in the vehicles involved in the accident were not harmed.

The incident led to a complete closure of the return ramp for a technical inspection, with two lanes also blocked during the investigation. Traffic was eventually cleared after the vehicles were removed, as police worked to understand the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event.
