A fire in an electric bus in western Aarhus has been brought under control, allowing normal traffic and movement to resume in the area.

A fire in an electric bus that previously blocked traffic at an intersection in western Aarhus has now been brought under control, as confirmed by the East Jutland Police. Residents in the area between Viborgvej and Jernaldervej are once again able to move around freely. Fire Chief Anders Rathcke from the East Jutland Fire Brigade reported that the fire originated from two batteries installed at the rear of the bus.

Authorities have worked swiftly to manage the situation, and traffic in the area has been reopened. Though the traffic is still moving slowly as residual congestion is cleared, the successful containment of the fire has alleviated safety concerns for local residents. As a precautionary measure, the fire service remained on site to ensure that no further incidents would occur from the damaged electric bus.

This incident highlights the potential risks associated with electric buses, particularly concerning battery malfunctions. As the adoption of electric vehicles increases, understanding the implications of such fires becomes essential for both manufacturers and public safety officials to ensure safe transport systems in urban environments.
