The Election Commission of India (ECI) has recently wrapped up a two-day visit to review preparations for the upcoming 2026 Kerala Assembly elections. During a press conference held in Kochi, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar spoke fluently in Malayalam, emphasizing the efforts being made to conduct the elections in a free, fair, and transparent manner. He highlighted that the preparations are in their final stages, with an aim to create a festive atmosphere around the electoral process, ensuring a memorable experience for voters.

In his address to the media in Kochi, CEC Gyanesh Kumar, along with Election Commissioners Dr. Sukbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vineet Joshi, shared insights from their meetings over the past two days with various stakeholders. This included discussions with political parties, the Director General of Police (DGP), the Chief Secretary, district magistrates, Superintendents of Police (SP), and representatives of youth voters. This extensive engagement reflects the Commission’s proactive approach to incorporate feedback from all segments involved in the electoral process.

Kumar expressed gratitude towards the political parties for their support of the election preparations and reiterated the ECI’s commitment to fostering a democratic exercise that resonates positively with voters.
