Gallaratese, the redevelopment of the sports center in via Cilea begins

The Gallaratese sports center in via Cilea is set for redevelopment after being closed since 2019, with a proposal from the company Camfit that includes a significant financial investment and new facilities.

The Gallaratese sports center located on via Cilea is on the brink of redevelopment, following a declaration of public interest by the municipal council. This venue has been closed since 2019, and the only proposal for its revitalization has come from Camfit SSD a.r.l., a company led by former Inter Milan star Esteban Cambiasso. The redevelopment plan, which includes an investment of almost 7 million euros over a span of 25 years, aims to breathe new life into this local facility, enhancing its offerings to the community.

The proposal entails significant changes, including the construction of two five-a-side football fields, which are considered more marketable than the larger eleven-a-side pitches, as well as two tennis courts designed to support the growing popularity of tennis in Italy. Additionally, the plan includes six padel courts, reflecting this sport's rising status in the region. This strategic overhaul not only targets concrete improvements to the sports facilities but also aims to create a vibrant community hub that engages local residents and sports enthusiasts alike.

In compliance with local regulations, Camfit has resolved existing arrears from previous obligations, positioning itself as a credible partner for the municipality. They are now required to develop a detailed technical and economic feasibility study to further validate their proposal and facilitate a subsequent public tender. This initial phase marks a significant step forward in the renovation of a long-abandoned space, promising to enhance local sports engagement and provide much-needed facilities to the community.
