The Vilnius County Units of the Shooters will Test Their Readiness to Act During Crises

The Vilnius County Shooters units are conducting training exercises to assess readiness for crisis response.

The training exercise organized by the Vilnius County's King Mindaugas shooters' battalion, which consists of over 5,500 members including more than 500 young shooters, is aimed at evaluating the overall capabilities and resources of the shooting units. Participants will be given orders to report to designated locations equipped with necessary weaponry and equipment within a set time frame. This initiative emphasizes the importance of crisis preparedness within the community and involves a thorough check of the shooters' ability to fulfill commands and make objective assessments of their resources.

Acting commander Geraldas Pukelis explained that the exercise, named "Alertex," evaluates not only the shooters' execution of tasks but also their equipment and motivation. It serves to provide insights into the current state of readiness among the members of the shooting units and highlights areas where improvements can be made. By holding these extensive drills across all ten shooting units, officials aim to bolster local resilience in the face of potential crises.

Colonel Linas Idzelis, the head of Lithuania's shooters' union, points out that the main objective of these exercises is to gauge the actual condition of the units. By assessing equipment levels, readiness, and motivation, the aim is to strengthen the training and support provided to shooters, which in turn enhances the overall resilience and preparedness of society for any nationwide emergencies. This initiative marks a significant step in ensuring the effectiveness of community-based crisis management strategies.
