Dimitris Tsiodras, a Member of the European Parliament and spokesperson for the New Democracy party in Greece, is advocating for better access to digital transformation programs for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). In his inquiry to the European Commission, he asks what measures will be taken to simplify both the funding programs and the access process for SMEs, emphasizing the need to bridge the gap between research, the application of research results, and their availability in the market. He highlights that while SMEs are a key target group within this program, they currently receive only 17% of the total funding, which underscores a significant disparity that needs addressing. By advocating for improved access, Tsiodras is attempting to ensure that these businesses can leverage digital tools that are pivotal for growth and competitiveness.
