With 'giant intestine' and free health services, Oncological Turn is held in Montes Claros
Montes Claros is hosting the II Oncological Turn, providing free health services and promoting cancer prevention and early diagnosis.
Montes Claros is currently hosting the II Oncological Turn, an event aimed at enhancing public awareness regarding cancer prevention and early diagnosis. The event takes place on the 6th and 7th of this month in Praça Doutor Carlos, and features various free health services such as blood pressure checks, blood sugar tests, massages, vaccination updates, dental and eye assessments. Unique to this event is the exhibition of a 'giant intestine,' intended to educate attendees about gastrointestinal health.
Coordinated by the Ação Solidária às Pessoas com Câncer (Aspec) and with support from the Superintendência Regional de Saúde (SRS) and the Municipal Health Secretary, the initiative aims to provide vital health information to the community. This outreach emphasizes the importance of understanding cancer's signs and symptoms while encouraging proactive health measures. Local hospitals and clinics are also participating, highlighting collaborative efforts to increase health literacy within the area.
The Oncological Turn not only offers essential health services but also serves as a platform for community engagement and education. By creating an environment where residents can learn about cancer prevention interactively, the event reflects a commitment to improving public health and reducing cancer incidence through knowledge dissemination. Such initiatives are crucial in regions like Montes Claros, where access to healthcare resources might be limited, and community-focused programs can have a lasting impact on health outcomes.
