Campos will gain a new police battalion and civic-military school
Campos dos Goytacazes will receive a new police battalion and a civic-military school announced by Governor Cláudio Castro during a visit.
Campos dos Goytacazes, located in Northern Fluminense, is set to establish a new police battalion alongside a civic-military school. This initiative was announced by Governor Cláudio Castro during an official visit to the city on April 4. The police battalion will be located at the site of the current CIEP Pedro Álvares Cabral in the Codim neighborhood and is expected to start operations within 90 days, while the school is projected to open by mid-year.
The announcement was made during a ceremony attended by various authorities, including local police officials, regional mayors, and political representatives. Governor Castro emphasized that the space will not only serve as a police battalion but will also include the civic-military educational institution. The project aims to create a unified structure, as explained by Marcelo Menezes, the Secretary of State for Military Police and the general commander of the police force.
The establishment of these facilities is part of a broader effort by the state government to enhance public safety and educational opportunities in Campos dos Goytacazes. The new battalion is expected to contribute significantly to local security while the civic-military school is anticipated to provide a disciplined educational environment for students, thereby strengthening community ties and fostering civic responsibility among the youth in the region.
