Kulta Katriina filter coffee may contain metal fragments: return to store

Meira Oy has issued a recall of Kulta Katriina filter coffee due to potential metal fragments found in some packages.

Meira Oy has announced a recall of its Kulta Katriina filter coffee due to an incident on the production line that may have resulted in metal fragments being present in certain packages. The Finnish Food Authority has communicated this issue, which specifically affects the Kulta Katriina Perinteinen filter coffee in 500-gram packages with best before dates of August 23, 24, 26, September 1, and September 5, 2027.

The company reassured consumers that the risk is largely mitigated because any metal fragments would be trapped in the filter bag during the brewing process and would not end up in the coffee beverage or enter the body. Nonetheless, Meira advises that the affected products should not be used to ensure consumer safety, emphasizing the importance of following precautionary measures in food production.

Consumers who have purchased the affected coffee packets can return them to the store where they were bought. The stores will provide a full refund for the returned products, reflecting Meira's commitment to maintaining consumer trust and safety in their products.
