Debt renegotiation drive with Compesa in Petrolina starts on Monday (9)
A debt renegotiation drive is set to begin in Petrolina, Brazil, aimed at assisting residents in settling their water bills with the local sanitation company, Compesa.
Starting Monday, a debt renegotiation drive will be held in Petrolina, located in the Sertão region of Pernambuco, as a collaboration between Prodecon and the Companhia Pernambucana de Saneamento (Compesa). This initiative aims to facilitate the settlement of outstanding water bills for local residents, with services available until Friday (13). The event will be held at Prodecon’s headquarters and provide various services including individual analyses of debts, issuance of second copies of bills, formalization of payment agreements, consumption reviews, and updates of customer records.
The event will operate daily from 8 AM to 12 PM and from 1 PM to 5 PM, welcoming account holders who can present a valid photo ID. For those attending on behalf of someone else, a notarized power of attorney is required. This service will not only assist residents in resolving their debts but also offers a chance for consumers to address issues related to their water consumption, ensuring that accounts are up to date and free from previous conflicts over billing inaccuracies.
This initiative reflects the proactive approach of local authorities to alleviate financial burdens on residents, particularly those who may be struggling to keep up with their essential utility payments. It's a significant step in enhancing public service accessibility and potentially reducing the number of disconnections that occur due to unpaid water bills, supporting the community's overall welfare.
