LIVE: Sensitive Child in the Family: Understanding, Recognition, and Support

A lecture will explore sensitivity in children, its recognition and impact on daily family and school situations, while offering practical advice to parents.

The lecture will address the findings from research on sensory processing sensitivity, focusing on how to recognize sensitivity in a child and how it manifests in daily family and school environments. Parents will receive practical recommendations on how to support their sensitive child, promoting emotional safety and helping them see and strengthen the resources associated with these temperamental traits.

From March 2 to 8, the sixth Children's Mental Health Week "Talk to Me" will take place, aiming to educate parents and supporters about children's mental health, as well as inform them about resources and options for seeking help in Latvia. The initiative is part of broader efforts to boost awareness and understanding of children's mental issues and the importance of early recognition and support in family settings.

"Talk to Me" is organized by the association "Debesmanna". The online events are free of charge and will be conducted remotely via the Facebook and Instagram profiles of "Debesmanna" and its partner organizations, making them accessible to a broad audience. This initiative highlights the growing recognition of mental health issues in children and the importance of parental engagement in fostering a supportive environment for sensitive children.
