LIVE: Kindergarten Adaptation: How Parents Should Manage Emotions
The article discusses the emotional challenges parents face during their children’s adaptation period to kindergarten and provides guidance during this process.
The adaptation period for children entering kindergarten often proves to be more emotionally taxing for parents than for the children themselves. In a forthcoming lecture, various feelings experienced by parents will be explored, including anxiety, guilt, sadness, helplessness, and relief. Understanding that these emotions are normal is crucial, as is finding practical ways for parents to calm themselves and provide support during this transition period.
From March 2nd to 8th, the sixth Children's Mental Health Week, titled 'Talk to Me,' will be held with the aim of educating parents and caregivers about children's mental health. This initiative seeks to provide crucial information regarding resources and avenues for seeking assistance in Latvia. The week will include various events aimed at fostering better understanding and support for both parents and children.
Organized by the association 'Debesmanna,' the 'Talk to Me' events are scheduled to take place online, offering free accessibility via 'Debesmanna' and its partners’ Facebook and Instagram profiles. This initiative not only seeks to address children's mental health challenges but also emphasizes the importance of parental support and emotional well-being during significant life changes such as starting kindergarten.
