Vibo Brings a Female Touch in March with Female Chefs from the Region
A series of tasting nights featuring women who shaped the Greek gastronomy scene started on March 4 in a popular wine bar in Piraeus.
Starting March 4, Vibo, a beloved wine bar in Piraeus, is hosting a series of tasting evenings featuring female chefs who have made significant contributions to Greek gastronomy. This initiative coincides with International Women’s Day, highlighting the talents of women from different regions of Greece through their culinary creations, paired with carefully selected local wines.
The launch event on March 4 featured chef Agyro Varda from 'Elia and Dyo'smos' in Skalanis, Heraklion, who presented a menu inspired by traditional Greek flavors, particularly from Crete, using authentic local ingredients. Attendees not only enjoyed exquisite flavors but were also treated to stories behind each dish, showcasing the passion and cultural heritage embedded in the recipes.
As the month progresses, the event not only celebrates women's contributions to the culinary arts but also serves to promote local gastronomy, encouraging diners to appreciate the skills and stories of female chefs. This initiative reflects a broader societal recognition and appreciation of women's roles in various fields, aligning with the spirit of International Women’s Day.
