Lee Jung-ha, a professor at the University of Seoul, has been elected as the new president of the Korea Economic Law Association during its regular general meeting held on February 5.

Lee Jung-ha, a distinguished professor at the University of Seoul, was recently elected as the 18th president of the Korea Economic Law Association during its regular general meeting on February 5. His term will last for one year, from March 1, 2026, to February 28, 2027. The Korea Economic Law Association, founded in 1978, has been a leading academic organization in South Korea, contributing to the development of economic law and providing objective alternatives in corporate management, government policies, and legislative processes through its research and activities.

The association regularly holds three academic conferences and special policy seminars each year to address current economic issues, publishing high-quality research in its journal, "Journal of Economic Law," which is recognized by the National Research Foundation of Korea. Professor Lee, after graduating from the University of Seoul and obtaining an LL.M. from UC Berkeley School of Law, completed his doctoral studies in financial regulation law at Seoul National University. He started his academic career in 2011 at the University of Seoul and has also served as an advisor to major financial institutions, contributing significantly to enhancing the transparency and soundness of capital markets.

At his inauguration, Professor Lee emphasized the need for economic law to balance social responsibility and innovation, highlighting its critical role in corporate activities and market order. He expressed his commitment to strengthening the association's role as a bridge between academic research and policy practice, aiming to foster practical and forward-looking discussions within the field of economic law.
