The roadwork season in Tallinn began some time ago
Tallinn has begun extensive roadworks with several major projects planned for this year, including the reconstruction of Lauteri Street.
Tallinn is entering a busy roadwork season, with numerous streets set to undergo significant renovations. The Deputy Mayor for Municipal Affairs and Business, Kristjan Järvan, noted that many of these projects will be completed in the latter half of the year, as various utility operators will also update their networks during this time.
The first major project, a comprehensive renovation of Lauteri Street that includes all network updates, has already started. Järvan stated that collaborative efforts between the city and utility service providers will drive these larger undertakings, and the Lauteri Street project is expected to be completed by the end of the year, with the initial deadline set for August.
Additionally, work has recently commenced on Rävala Boulevard in the city center, targeted for completion by May. Järvan highlighted plans to make the area more pedestrian-friendly, while also mentioning that Utilitas, a utility provider, has future plans for larger pipeline construction efforts around 2027, signaling ongoing infrastructural development and the city's commitment to improving urban spaces.
