The Lithuanian government has initiated an evacuation operation for its vulnerable citizens currently in the United Arab Emirates, following a decision by the National Security Commission. Minister Juras Taminskas announced that the ministry has quickly secured an air carrier to facilitate these evacuations, ensuring that citizens will soon return to their families in Lithuania. The operation emphasizes prioritizing those with the greatest needs, including people with disabilities and pregnant women, who may have difficulty leaving on their own.

The evacuation flight is scheduled to depart from Dubai, with initial plans accommodating 170 passengers. The ministry's decision reflects concerns over worsening security conditions in the Middle East. Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė indicated on social media that the government has been actively managing the situation since Saturday, highlighting the urgency to protect its citizens abroad and facilitate their safe repatriation.
