Lithuania's Evacuation Flight Ordered – from the United Arab Emirates
Lithuania is planning an evacuation flight from the UAE while exploring additional evacuation options amid a complex and dynamic regional situation.
Lithuania is coordinating an evacuation flight from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as part of its crisis management efforts for citizens in need. The National Crisis Management Centre is actively preparing evacuation plans, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informing citizens who have requested assistance about the process and providing necessary consular support. Given the complex and dynamic situation in the region, evacuation is being organized in phases, taking into account the safety threats to citizens, air traffic restrictions, and ground movement risks.
The Lithuanian authorities underscore that during the evacuation, priority will be given to the most vulnerable groups, including individuals with disabilities, pregnant women, families with young children, unaccompanied minors, and those who are ill. Citizens who have registered for the evacuation do not need to take any further action as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will contact them directly. Meanwhile, those who have not yet registered but require assistance to exit the UAE and surrounding countries are encouraged to fill out a registration form.
Authorities are also advising those who have the actual capability to leave independently to consider doing so, accentuating the urgent need for citizens to assess their travel options in light of the ongoing regional instability. The situation remains fluid, with ongoing discussions with EU member states regarding available spots in their organized evacuation flights, reflecting the collaborative international effort to ensure the safety of Lithuanian citizens abroad.
