B13 near Lenggries: Traffic Reckless Driver Causes Accident
A reckless driver caused an accident involving a fully loaded timber truck on B13 near Lenggries, leading to significant damages but no injuries.
On Wednesday evening, a dangerous incident occurred on the Bundesstraße B13 near Lenggries when a 39-year-old driver of a fully loaded timber truck triggered a serious accident. According to the local police from Bad Tölz, the truck was traveling from Lenggries towards Sylvenstein around 6:15 PM when a black car approached from the opposite direction. The car was reportedly driving partly in the oncoming lane, forcing the truck driver to swerve right onto the shoulder of the road. This sudden maneuver caused the trailer to sway and tip over onto its left side, spilling its cargo onto the highway.
Fortunately, the driver of the timber truck remained uninjured in the incident. However, the accident did lead to significant damage, with estimates from the police indicating losses totaling at least 5,000 euros. This included damage to the trailer itself, as well as to the roadside and the road surface. The swift response by local fire departments from Lenggries and Winkel, which involved around 40 personnel, helped manage the scene and facilitate the cleanup process.
This event highlights ongoing concerns about reckless driving behavior on public roads, particularly on busy routes such as B13, which can lead to dangerous situations for both drivers and pedestrians. Law enforcement agencies continue to address these issues through increased patrols and stricter enforcement against reckless driving, aiming to bolster road safety for all users in the region.
