Accident in Reichersbeuern: Three cars get tangled on the B13
A three-vehicle accident on Federal Highway 13 near Reichersbeuern resulted in three people sustaining minor injuries due to icy road conditions.
On Tuesday morning, a collision involving three vehicles occurred on the B13 near Reichersbeuern, causing minor injuries to three people. According to the Bad Tölz police department, the accident was likely caused by icy conditions on the road. A 55-year-old woman from Holzkirchen lost control of her van while driving from Sachsenkam towards Bad Tölz, leading to her vehicle skidding and first colliding with the driver's side of an oncoming pick-up truck before crashing head-on into the car of a 62-year-old man from Bad Tölz who was following behind.
The impact caused the two vehicles to become wedged against each other, obstructing traffic on the highway. Emergency services responded promptly to the scene. The woman and the senior driver sustained minor injuries and were transported to the Bad Tölz hospital for treatment, while the 28-year-old pick-up truck driver also suffered minor injuries and sought medical attention independently. The total estimated damages from the crash amount to approximately 95,000 euros.
Authorities continue to assess road conditions as winter weather affects driving safety across the region. This incident highlights the importance of exercising caution on icy roads, as such accidents can lead to serious injuries and significant property damage, as seen in this case. The B13 was temporarily closed for cleanup and investigation but has since been reopened for traffic after ensuring safety measures were in place.
