Malõgina advanced both in singles and doubles

Elena Malõgina of Estonia secured her place in the quarterfinals of the ITF W50 tennis tournament in Helsinki, both in singles and doubles.

Elena Malõgina, Estonia's top female tennis player ranked 306th globally, has made a strong showing at the W50 level ITF tournament in Helsinki. She advanced to the quarterfinals of the singles competition by defeating Hungary's Adrienn Nagy in the first round, conceding only three games. Continuing her impressive performance, Malõgina faced Slovakian player Viktoria Hruncakova, currently ranked 43rd in the world. In a commanding display, Malõgina broke Hruncakova's serve three times in the first set, winning it 6-3, and secured the second set with an even more dominant score of 6-1.

As she progresses further in the tournament, Malõgina's next match in the quarterfinals will be against either German players Mona Barthel or Jule Niemeier, who are both ranked higher. Her confident play bodes well for her potential rise in the global rankings, moving her close to breaking into the top 300.
