Ecuador's Inamhi has issued a meteorological warning indicating increased thunderstorms and rainfall across various regions from March 2 to March 6.

Ecuador's National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inamhi) has released Meteorological Warning No. 15 ahead of expected severe weather conditions across the country. From the afternoon of March 2 until the morning of March 6, intense rains and thunderstorms are expected to strengthen particularly along the coastal areas and foothills of the western Andes. The forecast also highlights that rain in the Sierra and Amazon regions will primarily occur starting March 4.

During the evening of March 4, residents in the coastal region can anticipate rainfall, while occasional showers are expected in the Sierra. Moreover, the Amazon region is forecasted to experience rain in the early morning hours. Predicted temperatures across these regions will vary significantly, with the coast seeing temperatures between 22 °C and 31.5 °C, the Sierra ranging from 6 °C to 27 °C, and the Amazon fluctuating between 18.5 °C and 32 °C. The Galapagos Islands will also face warm temperatures ranging from 23 °C to 32 °C.

Additionally, Inamhi warns that UV radiation levels will reach high to extremely high levels, necessitating precautionary measures for individuals exposed to the sun, especially during peak hours. This meteorological warning signifies ongoing fluctuations in weather patterns in Ecuador, which may have implications for agriculture and public safety as regions prepare for adverse weather.
