A novelty in mObywatel that will please newborn parents
Parents can now report the birth of their child through the mObywatel app, streamlining the process to help them focus on family time.
Starting today, parents in Poland can officially report the birth of their child using the mObywatel application, a move announced by Deputy Minister of Digitization Dariusz Standerski on social media. This innovation aims to simplify bureaucratic procedures, allowing parents to prioritize their time and emotional well-being during this significant moment in their lives. Standerski emphasized the importance of closeness and calm during the early days of parenthood, indicating that formalities should not detract from family bonding.
Parents are required to report the birth of their child within 21 days from receiving the birth certificate, which is typically issued by the physician or midwife present at the delivery. This document must then be submitted to the Civil Registry Office within three days. With the mObywatel app, parents can navigate these formalities more easily. The new procedure is part of a broader legislative effort, as mentioned in the recent amendments to the population register and civil records law, designed to enhance digital services for citizens.
The Civil Registry Office will now automatically become aware of a new citizen's birth, reducing the need for parents to manage paperwork themselves. This digital initiative is expected to ease the burden on new parents, allowing them to enjoy their early family life without unnecessary stress. The modifications to the mObywatel application highlight the Polish government's commitment to improving accessibility to public services through technology, aiming to create a more user-friendly interaction between citizens and the state.
