My Son's Passion for Sports Changed Inga Žuolytė's Daily Life
Inga Žuolytė shares how her son's involvement in hockey has transformed her everyday life and connects to family traditions.
Inga Žuolytė recently spoke about her son’s growing passion for hockey during a quiz event organized by the Hockey Punks – Mototoja team. She attended the event at O'Learys entertainment center with her son, who has been training in this sport and participating in competitions for the past two years. This family interest in hockey runs deep, as her husband’s father and other close relatives have been involved in the sport, making it a frequent topic of discussion in their household.
Reflecting on her son's journey, Zuoityte noted that it took her a while to fully appreciate the significance of their choice to engage in hockey. In 2018, when she was expecting her son Gabriel, she had the honor of watching the late Mindaugas Kieras' 100th game with the Lithuanian men's national hockey team — a moment that foreshadowed their family’s new chapter in the sport. The same year her son was born, the Hockey Punks academy was established, and at the age of five, Gabriel began attending, with Kieras having the honor of being his first coach and introducing him to skating.
This passionate introduction to hockey not only draws on family legacy but also enriches Inga's daily life as she navigates her son's activities, reflecting on the community and connections formed through sports. Her story illustrates how sports can bring families closer together while also creating enduring memories that span generations, marking significant milestones in their lives with events and relationships built around a shared passion for the game.
